An opportunity has arisen within Carmarthenshire Council's Property Division for an Asset Management Surveyor to work as part of a team of property professionals providing strategic asset and estate management advice across the Council’s property portfolios.

We have refocussed our property functions into a new Property Division with over 700 staff responsible for strategic asset management, property maintenance, facilities management, property design and delivering property projects.

We develop, manage and maintain a diverse property portfolio including:

  • 9,000+ houses
  • offices for the Council's 2,000 office-based staff
  • 400 industrial buildings
  • 120 schools

The Property & Assets Department is growing and the first stage of that is taking on more Chartered Surveyors. We are looking to recruit two enthusiastic and dynamic General Practice Surveyors to provide a wide range of high quality property related advice to officers and elected members of the Council.

 

The Isle of Wight Council’s Property team is dedicated to ensuring that the council makes the most of its property assets. These are exciting senior roles with responsibilities across the full breadth of property management including: agency work (acquisition/disposal/lettings); regeneration; planning and development; valuation; and professional work (landlord and tenant). The postholders will have the opportunity to concentrate on one or a combination of these areas depending on preference and strengths. 

 

The Isle of Wight has a relatively new, extensive and exciting Island-wide regeneration agenda which the postholders will play an important role in delivering.

 

The postholders will support the current property team and Senior Property Manager, whom you will report to. You will be a capable and experienced Chartered Surveyor with strong technical surveying skills and, preferably, but not essentially, with public sector experience.
