As advocates and experts in Asset Management best practise in the public sector, we are unique in our ability to bring together the property and finance functions in public sector organisations.  We exist to deliver support to public sector property professionals throughout their careers and public sector organisations seeking to ensure value for money and adherence to best practice.  We act as the public sector property ‘Trusted Friend and Critical Advisor’.

 

The Role – You will be required to work within Property Advisory Services to support delivery of products and services across the Training & Standards, Networks & Conferences and the Consultancy pillars. You will also work with colleagues across the CIPFA group to provide advice and help develop new business streams relating to property and other linked topics. As well as delivering in all 3 pillar (Consultancy, Training and Networks) you will undertake the following tasks:

 

Team Tasks 

  • Develop trusting relationships that engender better team ethos and a positive and healthy team ‘goal driven’ culture
  • Take ownership of the team’s needs and work collaboratively to problem solve team issues
  • Always support team members when they ask for help
  • Identify and think proactively about how the team can be most effective
  • When necessary, prioritise the teams needs above the requirements of your role adopting a ‘TEAM (then) TASK (then) INDIVIDUAL’ approach.

General Tasks 

  • To carry out research and project work as required
  • To produce technical papers and to comment on technical issues
  • To share ideas for service improvements, best practice and income earning opportunities
  • To liaise with external partners and contacts as required
  • To liaise with central government and professional services as required to ensure updated knowledge is received at all times
  • To provide general advice to both service/network members and non-members as required
  • To participate actively in personal development and up-dating activities
  • To comply with CIPFA policies and procedures
  • To contribute to the promotion of CIPFA.

About You 

  • You will be Educated to degree level and/or be a holder of a relevant professional qualification.
  • You will have the following experience:
  • Substantial experience as advisor, consultant or manager in asset management/property related services with a proven track record of success and achievement. (Essential)
  • Experience in delivering user/customer-orientated services (Essential)
  • A public sector background with experience handling/advising on property and asset management related policies, strategies and plans (Essential)
  • A strong knowledge and experience of property/asset management matters within education, local government and health (Highly Desirable)
  • A good working knowledge of premises statutory compliance requirements (Highly Desirable)
  • Resource and/or budget maintenance experience (Highly Desirable)
  • Experience of procurement and project management (Highly Desirable)

Responding to changes called for by the modernisation agenda, you’ll ensure that we meet our statutory responsibilities and evolve in line with the NHS plan.
